We had it done recently and felt the difference right away. That is in terms of heat and the heating comes on via a thermostat and we've noticed it comes on much less frequently to maintain temp and for shorter periods of time. We went with a reputable national company with a 25 year guarantee which reasured us. We only wish we'd have had it done 5 years ago. The surveyor from the company came and drilled a hole and looked inside the cavity with a camera etc. We are not over 70 or on benefits so it wasn't free but subsidised for only £99 and it will pay for itself well within a year on our 3 bed detached.
